Silver Food Journal

Write for us

Silver Food Journal welcomes pitches that make food more legible: a well-framed explanation, a comparison that clarifies a real choice, a piece of food history or an account of a kitchen practice readers can understand and use safely.

What we are looking for

Send ideas about ingredients, cooking methods, kitchen tools, food history, foodways or the experience of sharing a meal. Strong pitches have a clear question, a defined reader and a reason the subject is worth exploring now or revisiting. We welcome fresh angles on familiar topics and careful explanations that do not assume specialist knowledge.

A good pitch

Tell us the proposed working title, the central idea, what readers will understand by the end and why you are suited to write it. Note any sources, material connections or limitations relevant to the proposal. Avoid pitches that rely on unsupported health claims, unsafe instructions, undisclosed promotion or a claim that one tradition represents everyone.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Please pitch the idea rather than sending a complete article unless we have requested one. A pitch is not a guarantee of publication, and we will discuss scope and terms before accepting commissioned work.

Our point of view

Curiosity belongs in every kitchen

We believe a closer look can make familiar food more interesting. Understanding the choices behind a dish leaves room for your own way of cooking and sharing it.
